Animal Engagement Programs

Our animal care programs provide the opportunity to learn about our animals with plenty of hands-on experience and interaction, including feeding, learning basic animal husbandry and engaging with the animals in their environment. Interactions with animals have been shown to decrease the perception of pain, lower blood pressure, promote care compliance and minimize anxiety.

Our fully accessible animal pen contains chickens, ducks and guinea pigs and we also have two resident goats. And situated just a short stroll away are the RDA Richmond Centre horses as well.

We run programs for people of all levels of ability and welcome enquiries from new clients, whether they’re individuals or groups. Enquire about our horticultural and animal care programs by calling North West Disability Services on 02 9686 4155 or email  enquiries@nwds.org.au
