Volunteering

The Secret Garden would not survive without the help of our wonderful volunteers! We need many hands and plenty of inspiration to make our garden flourish.

And there are plenty of great benefits for our Volunteers too… here’s what some of our Volunteers had to say when we asked them why they are involved with the Secret Garden:

“Flexibility is a big part of it. We can choose when we come, and for how long. We usually try and keep to the same days… Wednesdays and Fridays. The other thing too is the lovely community atmosphere. It’s really nice, and everybody’s here for the right reasons.”

Diane & David

“I like coming to the Secret Garden as I enjoy gardening and the company of all the other volunteers, participants and staff. It it nice to see the new Secret Garden taking shape because the plants and trees are growing so well.”

Lorraine

I enjoy doing volunteer work at the Secret Garden. The people are very friendly and helpful. I also enjoy learning more about plants and gardening.

Cheryl

The people and the atmosphere at the garden put me in a good comfort zone as I’ve always loved gardening. It’s a nice feeling to be helping our Community. A lot of people less fortunate than ourselves are helped in a lot of different ways by their involvement with the Secret Garden.
